Is therapy completely confidential?

Successful therapy requires confidentiality and a high degree of trust. You can expect that what you discuss in session will not be shared with anyone.

In the event you want me to share information or given an update to someone, by law I cannot release this information without obtaining your written permission. This is called "Informed Consent".

Please note that there are some exceptions to this rule. Exceptions include:

1) Suspected abuse or neglect of children, dependent adults, and elders.

2) If the therapist has reason to suspect the client is seriously in danger of harming him/herself or has threatened to harm another person.

What can I expect during

my first appointment?

In our first few sessions, we'll spend time getting to know each other and discussing what's brought you to therapy, your lived history of experiences and relationships, and anything else that it is important to you to share. This is an opportunity to ask questions and share ways you're hoping to benefit from therapy. Questions are always welcome when we work together. As we continue, our sessions will combine conversation and reflection, focusing on the events in your life--both past and present. Together, we'll work to uncover the patterns and ways of being that influence your experiences, highlighting both the strengths and challenges you face. We'll engage deeply with your perceptions, feelings and thoughts, exploring how they shape your behavior, relationships and experiences. Above all, my role is to create a safe space for you to explore who you are and want to become.

Other Questions?

Please contact me for any additional questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you.

How long do I need to be in therapy?

I typically meet with clients on a weekly basis, and each session lasts 55 minutes. Meeting weekly builds momentum and helps develop our therapeutic relationship. This frequency supports meaningful progress toward your goals. As we move forward,we will have the opportunity to adjust session frequency in response to your sense of readiness to meet bi-weekly or monthly.

The length of therapy is entirely up to you; some clients find a handful of sessions sufficient, while others benefit from deeper exploration over a longer period.

Do you offer in-person sessions?

I value in-person, face-to-face connection. I also understand that convenience matters and meeting in person may not be possible due to your circumstance or location, so I offer virtual sessions for those who need them. If we choose to meet online, we will do so using a HIPPA-protected Telehealth platform. It's important that you ensure you have a private space where we can discuss what's on your mind without interruptions. My goal is to create a comfortable environment for our work together, no matter the setting.

Do you accept insurance?

I operate as an out-of-network provider, which means I don't bill insurance directly. However, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Since insurance plans can differ wildly, I recommend reaching out to your insurance provider to understand your specific benefits. If you have any questions about this process or need assistance, I'm here to help you navigate it.
